Julie Smith has turned the small garden of her home in Pinehurst into a riot of colour. All the plants and flowers packed into her plot have been grown from seed, even though the pandemic lockdown made it difficult to get hold of compost. She loves the flowers and the wildlife her garden attracts. Julie's been gardening for the past 30 years and was inspired to pick up a spade by her father who provided his family with homegrown vegetables. This year, for the first time she decided to do the same. Her tip for novices is to do their own thing. "You garden is your space. If it makes you happy it's right," she says.
