A BENCH which was proving a magnet for daytime drinkers has been removed from Old Town.
South Swindon Parish Council acted after the bench on Okus Road, near the Bath Road roundabout, became a hotspot for anti-social behaviour.
A spokesperson for the parish council said: “Parish councillors are pleased to confirm the removal of the bench on Okus Road - near to the Bath Road roundabout.
"The bench was unfortunately attracting anti-social behaviour with daytime drinking. The removal of the bench was seen as a long-term solution to address this.
"There is a bus shelter a few metres away that also has a seated area for bus users.”
