A MAN will stand trial over claims he attacked a former partner and damaged her property.
Benjamin Gough, 38, is said to have gone to his ex’s council house in Carstairs Avenue, Park South, on September 20, assaulted the woman and damaged two internal doors.
Appearing before Swindon Magistrates’ Court via video link from Gablecross police station, Gough, of Beaulieu Close, Toothill, pleaded not guilty to assault by beating and causing criminal damage. He admitted breaching a non-molestation order preventing him from going to the house in Carstairs Avenue.
District Judge Joanna Dickens bailed him for the trial on December 23 at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court.
His bail conditions prevent him from contacting his alleged victim, going to Carstairs Avenue or Park South.
Ben Worthington appeared for the Crown Prosecution Service. Emma Hillier represented Gough.
