A 23-YEAR-OLD man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and driving while disqualified and without insurance.
The arrest came after an "unroadworthy" vehicle being driven in Downton came to the attention of officers from the Community Policing Team and Response Team 5 yesterday (Thursday, September 24).
A police spokesperson said: "Officers from the Community Policing Team and Response Team 5 discovered an unroadworthy vehicle being driven in Downton. The driver, a 23-year-old male from Salisbury, was arrested for driving over a prescribed limit of a specified controlled drug, driving whilst disqualified, and driving a motor vehicle without insurance.
"The vehicle was also found to be using a space saver wheel which should be used for emergencies only. The tread was recorded as being 0.5mm despite the legal limit being 1.6mm.
