A cocaine dealer faces being sent to jail when he is sentenced next month.

Appearing before Swindon Crown Court on Friday, Josef Gordon, 28, of Bloomsbury Street, Cheltenham, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine in Swindon on August 6 last year.

He admitted being over the cocaine drug drive limit on the same day, when he was stopped behind the wheel of a Vauxhall Astra in Cricklade Road.

The Gloucester man admitted being in possession of a green-handled folding knife in Cricklade Road on August 3, but denied another knife charge.

Prosecutor Christopher Wing told the court he would have to check with the Crown Prosecution Service that the pleas were acceptable and asked for seven days to confirm that was the case.

Judge Peter Crabtree set the case down for sentence on October 20 and ordered a pre-sentence report.

“These are serious offences. The custodial threshold is well passed, but you’ve pleaded guilty today and you haven’t been in trouble before so I’m going to ask probation to prepare a report on you. The starting point is custody,” the judge said.

Gordon, who was represented in court by solicitor Rob Ross, was bailed.
