ONE man has been taken to hospital in Bath and a second man is still awaiting an ambulance following a crash near Bradford on Avon this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene between Winsley Road and Ashley Lane near Bradford on Avon Rugby Football Club, at around 2.30pm.

A vehicle left the road and collided with a brick wall at the roadside.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “We were called just after 2pm today to a single vehicle RTC – a car had collided with a wall near Ashley Lane, Winsley.

“The fire service is on the scene and closed the road and the ambulance service is also on scene.

“The male driver has been taken to RUH by ambulance with what are believed to be minor injuries while a male passenger is awaiting a further ambulance before being abstracted from the vehicle. The incident is still ongoing.”

The B3108 Winsley Road is expected to remain closed in both directions until the scene is cleared.
