Pupils at a Devizes school are enjoying a new upgraded library since returning to school from lockdown, thanks to a donation from a local housebuilder.

Bellway South West has gifted £350 to Trinity Primary School, on Quakers Road, for new books and furniture.

The school is located across the road from the Quakers Walk development, where Bellway is building a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes.

Hannah Allender, headteacher of Trinity Primary School, said: “We are very grateful to Bellway for their generous £350 donation, which will go a long way towards helping us improve the school’s library resources.

“The children have been extremely excited about returning to school and I am sure they will love the new books and the furniture that we will be able to purchase with the money that has been donated.

“We are so pleased to receive this support from Bellway and I hope that, as near neighbours, we can continue to have a close relationship in the future.”

Sales Manager for Bellway South West, Christel Hawkins, said: “As a housebuilder, we believe it is very important to support the local communities in which we build and working with local schools is a major part of this.

“We are therefore proud to make this donation to help Trinity Primary School further enhance its library facilities for its pupils.

“The homes at Quakers Walk include a wide range of properties suitable for families, so we’d like to think that many of the children who live at the development will attend the school and benefit from these improvements.”
