Rugby players in Corsham have banded together to bring Christmas cheer to children spending the festive period in hospital.

Corsham RFC have collected a vast array of donations of unopened toys and gifts for those at Bath RUH’s children’s ward.

Players are also creating a basket of treats for doctors and nurses that will be tirelessly working Christmas in the ward.

James Williams has co-ordinated the efforts and also set up an Amazon wish list to ease orders, which can be found here.

He said: “It's a way of us giving back in any way we can. This year has been so tough on kids as it is, I have children myself and know how difficult things have been for them without being stuck in hospital.

"We're quite a family orientated club so thought it would be a nice fundraiser to work on together.

“Covid really shut down the way we do things - and so it really is quite a nice way to come together and the support from the local community has already been amazing.”

Mr Williams would like to thank everyone at Corsham RFC, Sarah at Morrisons Chippenham, Matt at the Corsham Toyshop and Richard at Morrisons Bath for their support to far.

Corsham RFC are also supporting the Forever Friend Appeal’s sponsor a hamper drive for hospital staff.
