TROWBRIDGE Lions Club have helped to pack up 50 boxes of goodies to give to families in need this Christmas.

Lions Club president Richard Loverock, and secretary Rick Jotcham, helped staff from Insit Moulded Packaging Ltd fill the boxes on Friday (Nov 27).

The items have been donated by Tesco stores in County Way and Frome Road, as well as children from Staverton CofE Primary School, Longscroft Children's Nursery School, and other organisations and individuals.

Mr Loverock, 70, said: "We've been unable to raise funds this year because of the Covid-19 pandemic and our traditional Santa's Sleigh and Christmas carols event has been cancelled."

Mr Jotcham added: "We've had a fantastic response from local community, including IMP Ltd, who have collected the food items and are packing the boxes."

Lions Club members plan to distribute the food hampers in the next two weeks in the run up to Christmas.

The Club is on the look out for new members. If you wish to join, visit https://www.trowbridgelions.org/about-us/ or contact Rick Jotcham at rickjotcham@trowbridgelions.org ‎
