First of 150 Cinnabon Bakery stores set to open in Blackburn

The new Cinnabon Bakery store will be based at Frontier Park Services and is the first of 150 further branches to open after the EG Group secured a new master licensee deal with the company. The new venture is set to create 2000 jobs across the country we can reveal.

The menu features cinnamon rolls, baked goods, and signature beverages in a range of flavours. To celebrate the opening the Blackburn the store has launched a buy one, get one free offer which will run throughout the month of December.

A Sbarro Pizza eatery is also opening next door to the Cinnabon where customers can get 20 per cent off all orders. Sbarro, is an American pizzeria chain that specialises in New York-style pizza sold by the slice.

The stores officially opens on Friday 4 December.

The Frontier Park site already houses a Subway, a Greggs, a Starbucks and a KFC restaurant and is based opposite the newly built Hampton by the Hilton Hotel.

EG Group’s Food and Beverage Director for Europe, Mohammed Tayab said: “Cinnabon is a well-recognised and enjoyed brand.

Cinnabon dough will be produced at a central kitchen in Frontier Park, Blackburn, and distributed daily to Cinnabon stores within EG Group locations. The dough said the company ‘will then be hand-rolled and baked’ in store. The facility will support up to 50 stores with daily deliveries of fresh dough.

Established in 1985 the first Cinnabon Bakery opened in the SeaTac Mall in Seattle, Washington and expanded quickly throughout the states. There are now over 1,600 Cinnabon bakeries across the world operating in places such as shopping malls, airports, train stations, entertainment centres and military establishments.

At the new Cinnabon location, the company said ‘customers will be able to get their hands on the Classic Cinnamon Rolls, the MiniBon and made-to-order blended beverages, including the Mochalatta Chill and Cinnamon Roll Chillatta’.
