Plans for 60 houses at Methuen Park in Chippenham have been submitted.

Developer Taylor Wimpey Bristol has put in a reserved matters application for 60 houses in Hilltop park which they intend to name Hilltop View.

A hybrid bid was granted in December 2017 which proposed to build 450 houses on top of the hill adjacent to Hilltop Park.

The site, according to Taylor Wimpey Bristol, is part of a wider bid for 450 homes submitted by Bloor Homes.

The proposed development will include a mix of one to four-bed properties with 28 per cent (17 properties) allocated for affordable housing.

If approved developer hope to break ground next summer.

A spokesman for the developers said: “This will be in the form of a bungalow, flats, terraces, semi-detached and detached houses, with 28 per cent (17 homes) to be allocated for affordable housing.”

Ian Drew, senior design and planning manager at Taylor Wimpey Bristol, said: “We are delighted to be working alongside Bloor Homes to deliver high-quality new-build homes to the area.

“We’re hopeful our proposal will be given the green light so that we can progress with our exciting plans for Hilltop View and help to build a new community in Chippenham.”

A decision for the housing scheme is likely to be reached early next year, the developers said.
