Gremlins forced Swindon Borough Council's planning meeting on Tuesday to be abandoned after just 20 minutes.

The virtual meeting was being held to consider three substantive items – the council’s revised parking standards for developers in the town centre and Old Town, an application for retrospective planning permission on a five-bedroom house in Wroughton and permission for a new house in Highworth.

While councillors seemed to be able to see and hear each other the feed for the public had vision but no sound. The meeting was halted in an attempt to fix this but was then closed for the evening.

The committee will reconvene at 6pm on Tuesday, January 26.
