RAIDING police officers found a small amount of cocaine on a Walcot man’s bedside table.
Swindon Magistrates’ Court heard officers executed a warrant at Samuel McCulloch’s home in Hunsdon Close on July 16.
Prosecutor Keith Ballinger told JPs: “A small amount of drugs have been recovered by officers, I think when the officers have searched the room he uses. I think there was a small amount of white powder on a bedside table.”
Interviewed by police, he said he sometimes used cocaine but as far as he was aware there were no drugs in the house.
Appearing before the justices, McCulloch, 55, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine.
Defending, Charlotte Frizzell said her client – a bricklayer dad-of-one – was not a regular cocaine user, but took the drug socially. The drugs found by police had been left over from a barbecue.
He was fined £266 and ordered to pay £119 in costs and surcharge.
