People have been urged by the police to refrain from sharing images or video footage relating to an alleged theft near Corsham today.
An arrest has now been made in relation with the incident at the family-run Wadswick Country store.
More than £2,000 of items have been taken from the store.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “We are aware of footage circulating on social media regarding a report of theft from a shop in Box.
“A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of theft, going equipped to steal, possession of a bladed article and possession of Class A drugs. He is currently in police custody.
“We would ask people to please not share the video as it could compromise our investigation.”
Alex Barton, Director at Wadswick Country Store, said staff had been left "gutted" after the incident.
He added: “It happened a few hours ago, but my heart-rate is still through the roof.”
