Wiltshire Wildlife Trust is encouraging the county to take part in the Waste Free February challenge.
The aim is to produce as little rubbish as possible through reusing, recycling and composting more items.
Now in it's fourth year the challenge saw over 300 people save four tonnes of rubbish from going to landfill last February.
People taking part are encouraged to set a goal such as throwing away only one carrier bag of waste in a week or a black bag’s worth over the month.
Anyone taking part is encouraged to share photos, videos, and stories about their efforts to encourage others.
The average Wiltshire household produces almost half a tonne of waste a year. Reducing this waste has a range of positive environmental outcomes, including reducing pollution from the creation of materials such as virgin plastic, and less greenhouse gas emissions from landfill.
