THIS is the dramatic moment a lorry skidded on a snow-covered main road, jackknifed across two lanes and hit a passing car.

The vehicle lost control on the A346 between Chiseldon and Marlborough in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police closed the road in both directions and asked drivers to find alternative routes while they dealt with the aftermath of the collision.

The driver of the car directly behind the vehicles involved recorded this footage on his dashcam, which shows the lorry flashing its hazard lights which pierce through the darkness as it skids horizontally along the road and comes to a sudden halt when it bumps into another car, which causes some of its wheels to briefly leave the road.

The dashcam's driver speeds past the scene of the accident and narrowly avoids colliding with either vehicle by driving off-road for a few seconds before slowing to a stop.

He later told the Adver that no-one was badly hurt.
