Staff at Northlands Surgery in Calne are doing their part in the largest immunisation campaign in NHS history.
According to Northlands Surgery, Calne is on track to meet the government’s goal of vaccinating all over-80s before February 15.
The surgery said that the majority of care home residents and staff have now received their Covid jabs.
This news comes to the delight of the town council, as mayor, Robert Merrick said the programme was an example of the good thing people can achieve when they work together.
"The public have helped too by observing the guidelines put in place and their patience and understanding surrounding the inevitable increase in traffic on vaccination days, and of course the three surgeries working together, they have done so well,” Cllr Merrick added.
Well organised at Northlands #calne surgery this morning for residents receiving their Covid vaccination. My mum, who is 93, received her jab today. @CalneNews @wiltsgazette @CalneTC @ShoutOutCalne

Alison Ingham, practice manager of Northlands Surgery, thanked the mayor adding that Northlands was proud to be the local vaccination centre for the Calne & Yatton Keynell Primary Care Network.
The group is made up of three surgeries, Northlands, Patford House and Jubilee Field Surgery.
To date, well over 3,000 patients have been vaccinated at the centre and Ms Ingham said the inroads could not have been achieved without the help of surgery’s Patient Participation Group and its staff.
She also thanked the public for their understanding of the traffic around North Street on vaccination days.
The vaccination clinics run weekly to meet the top four priority group targets by mid-February.
