MORE than 20 emergency services staff at ambulance and fire stations in Trowbridge paid tribute to Captain Sir Tom Moore on Wednesday evening.
They turned out with headlights on and blue lights flashing at 6pm to join in the nation's tribute to the 100-year-old who raised nearly £33 million for the NHS by walking laps of his garden.
Sir Tom, who was knighted by The Queen for his charity fundraising effort, died with coronavirus in Bedford Hospital on Tuesday.
Jane Whichello, Deputy Commander for the South Western Ambulance Service in Wiltshire, said: "Sir Tom was an absolute inspiration and raised vast amounts of money for the NHS.

"He had an amazing last year and has left a huge legacy that will benefit NHS staff and patients for many years to come."
The ex-army veteran captured the nation's hearts last year by walking 100 laps of his garden during the first coronavirus lockdown to raise funds for NHS Charities Together.
