Adver readers have reacted with confusion after video game retailer announced it would be reopening inside Swindon's Sports Direct store.

Game closes it's Regent Street store last week and stock was cleared out before announcing it would reopen just up the road at the sports store.

Both businesses are owned by Mike Ashley's Frasers Group which also operates House of Fraser, Flannels and USC in Swindon's town centre.

Despite the company owning both stores, Adver readers were disappointed by the closure and complained about the already crowded layout of the current Sports Direct store.

The shop is currently closed due to the national Covid lockdown but will reopen when legally allowed to.

Here's what you said on Facebook:

Matt Carter: "Part of the same retail group so it saves costs on multiple units and rents.

"Many retailers now consolidating and using retail space for multiple brands.

"Wouldn’t be surprised if Primark used the retail space left by game to expand the store further."

Darryl Duncan: "Moving into a already congested shop. It's hard enough getting around Sports Direct as it is never mind adding to the lack of space."

Angela Edginton: "Not the right place really.

"Always really busy in Sports Direct."

Dave Catterall: "Sports Direct is a nightmare to get around as is without Game in there too.

"Would have been better putting it into House of Fraser shop."

Laura Baxter: "I see how splitting the rent may be cost effective but that store is cramped enough.

"I reckon both parts will lose actual store customers.

"There just isn’t enough space unless they’re intending to reduce the amount of in-store stock for Sports Direct?

"House of Fraser would have made more sense to me as they need more help with rent and have a bigger floor plan.

"Of course I could be entirely wrong. I’m not a surveyor or planner or business person, just my opinion.

"Either way I hope it works out. Would be terrible to lose another store."

Collett Bird: "Just means another closed shop."

Shaun Clifford: "The Game store was three stories, and I guess cost a lot of money to rent.

"Considering they downsized a lot when the original Game went into administration and was brought out, this is not a surprise."

John Barratt: "It would be a game just to get to the section in normal times let alone with social distancing in place."

Livvy Davies: "They’re doing this where they can in most towns and cities that have both stores."

Matthew Spencer: "How to get the lazy kids into sports shops, smart thinking."

James Goodenough: "They should have put it downstairs in House of Fraser."

Kevin Young: "Just put a Greggs in Primark and be done with it."

Richard Hodder: "Not interested in either."

Ashley Rodriguez: "E-Sports."

Allan Cottrell: "Why bother? Bigger store yes but surely that's going to mean higher rent?

"They'll be closing up again."

Dave Vincent Grainger: "I’m surprised they didn’t go into House of Fraser instead."

Ryan Jackson: "Hopefully they put a pound shop where game used to be."

Kay Howe: "There isn't enough room in Sports Direct as it is.

"Where are they going to put it?"

Shi Kki: "What’s the point?"

James Mark Dowling: "So you get both types of customers, ones that don’t go out side and ones that do. Very clever."

Andrew Nelson: "It's not like anyone is shopping anyway but it's likely cheaper to sustain both stores through a shared lease."

Peter H Bates: "Just like Argos in Sainsbury's."

James Bailey: "It’s called trying to save money."
