A SWINDON man has been banned from a town centre Greggs after he admitted stealing £6-worth of baguettes.

Appearing before Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday morning via police station video link, Timothy Ryan, 21, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to theft.

Prosecutor Ben Worthington said Ryan had stolen the sandwiches from the Greggs café on Canal Walk on February 15. A police community protection notice already prevented him from going to the shop, he added.

Magistrates adjourned sentence to March 10, bailing him with conditions not to go Greggs in Canal Walk.
