TEMPERATURES are forecast to rise as high as 15C in Swindon this week, with parts of England being hotter than Madrid.

The country endured freezing conditions, snow, and record lows in the past few weeks.

But the town will see temperatures of 15C tomorrow and BBC weather has forecast several hours of sunshine on Friday from 7am to 4pm.

The mercury could reach 18C tomorrow in parts of the country, according to BBC Weather.

By comparison Madrid is set to record a temperature of 16C on Wednesday, February 23.

BBC Weather forecaster Ben Rich said: “It is going to feel like spring, we have got high pressure centred right across the heart of the continent.

“It will be pulling warm air across Iberia and France towards the southeast of the UK and parts of Germany as well.”
