A CORDON was rigged up on a path near a Swindon primary school after pooled blood was found on the pavement.

An investigation was launched by Wiltshire Police after the blood was discovered on the path between Westcott Place and Turner Street, near Robert Le Kyng Primary School. The force has now confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances.

A police spokesman said officers were called shortly before 1am today by paramedics from South Western Ambulance Service, who were trying to treat a man in Westcott Place.

“Paramedics were attempting to treat a man who was initially refusing treatment for an injury," he said.

“He later engaged with the paramedics who were able to treat him at the scene."

The police spokesman added: “We later received reports of pools of blood around Swindon, so have carried out detailed enquiries and have concluded that these are linked to the medical incident.

“There is nothing suspicious and no further police action is needed.”
