Here are some of the recent cases heard before magistrates in Swindon and Wiltshire.

Great Bedwyn: 62-year-old Richard Carlisle of Brook Street has been given a 16 week suspended prison sentence for drink driving.

The jail term was suspended for two years. He pleaded guilty to driving his VW Saloon on the A4 between Chisbury and Little Bedwyn with 130 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. He was also ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months and banned from driving for 34 months.

Devizes: Jake Gregoire, 24, of Blackberry Lane has been fined £450 with costs of £110 after pleading guilty to driving without insurance or a license and was also disqualified from driving for a year.

Trowbridge: Chase Hudd, 36, of Boundary Walk pleaded guilty to stealing a Mercedes flatbed sprinter van.

He was fined £100 and given a community order to do 40 hours of unpaid work. He also got six points on his license.

Trowbridge: 32-year-old Ricky Lewis of Mascroft Road has has his case for possession of nine grams of cocaine adjourned until April.

Melksham: 37-year-old Joseph Yates has been fined £300 after pleading guilty to driving under the influence of drugs. He was also banned from driving for a year.

Trowbridge: Lewis Cook, 25, of Kensington Fields has been fined £50 after admitting being drunk and disorderly. He was also fined £250 after admitting possession of cocaine.

Trowbridge: The case against 42-year-old Melanie Shawcross of Roundstone Street has been adjourned. She is accused of stealing three bottles of Hendricks Gin worth £87 from Sainsbury’s.

Chippenham: A fine of £380 has been given to 28-year-old Kyle McLoughlin of Hungerdown Lane for speeding on the A4 at Yatesbury. He pleaded guilty. Gary Mew,55, of Newby Acre, Marlborough was also fined £320 after admitting speeding on the same stretch and also got six points on his licence.

Calne: Stephen Chamberlain, 36, of Harris Court, The Strand, has been sent for trial accused of intent to supply class A and class B drugs.

He also stands accused of having £900 cash, deemed to be the proceeds of crime. No plea was indicated. He was given unconditional bail ahead of a trial set for April 23.

ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT: A 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named as he is under 18, was given a nine-month youth referral order after he pleaded guilty to possession of a knife in Bassett High Street and assaulting a man by beating.

He must pay £107 in costs and surcharge. The knife was forfeit.

LYNEHAM: Leslie Williams, 38, of East Hanney, Wantage, admitted assaulting a police constable in Lyneham on January 3 and breaching the requirements of post sentence supervision.

He was given a 12-month community order with up to 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days, fined £50 and ordered to pay a £95 victim surcharge. The sums were deemed paid by time served in the cells.

Trowbridge: Joshua Daffurn, 26, of Summerleaze, was fined £190 with £310 costs for assaulting a police officer for which he was found guilty. He was also surcharged £34.

Marlborough: Dean Hacker, 32, of Stockwood in Bristol has been sent for trial accused of stealing cash after damaging an ATM machine in Marlborough. He will face trial by jury for two counts.

The first that he stole £17,320k from Cardtronics in April last year. And also to damaging the ATM machine, valued at £10,500. No plea was indicated. 24-year-old Harry Thomas, also from Bristol is charged with the same crimes.

Chippenham: 57-year-old Robert Harris of King Alfred Street has pleaded guilty to having 35 category A indecent photographs of a child on his laptop. He has also pleaded guilty to having 120 category B indecent images of a child on his Samsung tablet and a further 491 category C ones.

He has been committed to Swindon Crown Court for sentence and has been ordered to register with the police in accordance with the Sexual Offences Act and has been given unconditional bail.
