Nearly 80 per cent of the people who took part into the second Doric Park consultation voted in favour of the 3G pitch.

Of the 585 people from the Trowbridge area who took part in the survey, 465 voted in favour of the Doric Park proposals.

The survey asked residents if they backed the proposed 3G pitch development or not.

In total, 817 people actually voted in the survey, however, 232 were discounted as they gave postcodes outside of the Trowbridge town boundary.

This includes responses from five people in the Woodmarsh and North Bradley areas which are partly to be drawn into Trowbridge in May this year.

A spokesman for the town council said: “There is a 95 per cent confidence rate that this trend would continue if the whole population of Trowbridge (27,000 residents) were to vote, with a margin of error of four per cent.”
