Here are some of the recent cases to be heard before the courts in Swindon and Salisbury.

CHIPPENHAM: A 21-year-old Chippenham man will appear in court after beating up another man in the town on May 30 last year.

Archie Connolly, of Humbolts Hold, had pleaded not guilty, but was later found guilty by the courts on March 31. H has been remanded on unconditional bail for a pre-sentence hearing later this month.

TROWBRIDGE: Samuel Oswin, 34, has been banned from driving for over two years after he drove while under the influence. Oswin, of Broad Street, had more 32mcg per litre of cocaine in his bloodstream when he was caught driving his Vauxhall Astra on Mortimer Street on July 5 last year. He also had a proportion of the controlled drug benzoylecgonine in his bloodstream, which was greater than 200 micrograms per litre.

Weeks later, on September 9, he was again stopped by police while driving a white Vauxhall. This time, he had 662ug of controlled drug benzoylecgonine in his bloodstream and 35ug of cocaine in his blood.

He also had a quantity of cocaine and cannabis on his person.

He pleaded guilty to the crimes on March 31, and was banned from driving for 28 months. He has also been told to complete a Thinking Skills programme, which will take 20 days, in the wake of the incident. He was also fined £300

LYNEHAM: Samuel Sealey, 33, has been fined after he assaulted a police constable in January.

On New Year’s Day Sealey, of Hillside View in Bath, launched the assault on the police constable, beating him.

He pleaded guilty on March 31 and has now been fined £120.

CHIPPENHAM: Edward Anthony Sclafani, 33, of Royal Close, has been accused of driving his BMW down Allington Way, in Chippenham with cocaine in his bloodstream. Court papers state that tests showed a blood reading of over 32mcg per litre.

He also had more than 200micrograms of Benzoylecgonine in his bloodstream, during the drive, which took place on July 14 last year.

The case has been adjourned until May and no plea has yet been listed for the 33-year-old.

TIDWORTH: Paul Foakes-Tiffin, of Gardeners Green, has pleaded guilty to harassing a woman via unwanted phone calls and text messages. The offences took place between February 16 and February 22 this year.

He also has admitted to stealing £4 of household items from Tesco in Tidworth, on February 17, 2021 and £28.75 of gin and fruit juice on February 20. On February 17, this time in Ludgershall, Foakes-Tiffin damaged a doorbell, rear garden gate and fence to an unknown value.

On 29 December last year – also damaged front door glass at a property in Ludgershall.

The 45-year-old’s case will call again on April 19, and he haws been remanded in custody until that point.

ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT: Mirella Santos, of the George Hotel in Reading, will face charges of assault against emergency service personnel. Santos, 30, is accused of assaulting three police officers on October 7 last year in Royal Wootton Bassett. She has pleaded not guilty and the case will call again in July.

MARLBOROUGH: Lee Dean, of Mendip Gardens in Yatton, has been fined after his behaviour in Marlborough.

Courts found that, on December 19 last year, he used threatening or abusive words or behaviour that caused harassment, alarm or distress to nearby people.

The 29-year-old had admitted to the crime and was fined £50. He faces a second charge, of assault, which he denies. That case, which also took place in Marlborough, will call again in May. He is accused of causing actual bodily harm to a woman.

MELKSHAM: Latasha Jade Sheppard, 31, has pleaded guilty to assaulting a man in Chippenham on August 9 last year. She was initially handed four weeks jail time, but an 18 month suspension will challenge her to abstain from similar behaviour. Sheppard, of Kingsbury Square, also admitted to beating a woman on August 9 and of sending a grossly offensive message via the means of a public electronic communications network.

She also has been ordered to pay £200 compensation.

M4: Rivjalt Hoxha, of Greenleaze in Bristol, has been fined £965 after driving without insurance. Hoxha had been driving through Wiltshire on the M4 westbound when he was caught out. He had pleaded guilty in March.
