RESIDENTS of Warminster have urged the town council to replace ageing litter bins.
Town clerk Fiona Fox says they have received several emails, letter and phone calls from people asking for bins to be replaced.
Now the town's environmental services committee, which meets on Monday, is being asked to earmark £3,000 to repair and replace the bins in the next financial year.
Mrs Fox said: “As members are aware, currently the town council is not responsible for litter bins around the town, only those within town council- maintained sites.
“The bins are one of the services likely to be transferred to the town council from Wiltshire Council as part of the asset transfer.”
The council has surveyed the bins and has adopted a replacement policy. Officers could be asked work with Wiltshire Council on the issue.
