ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT: Sandra Cripps, 64, of Petty Lane, Derry Hill, admitted driving a Peugeot 207 carelessly on Royal Wootton Bassett High Street and skipping a red light last November.

She was fined £438, given nine points and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £44 victim surcharge.

WANBOROUGH: Noye Nichols, 30, of Underdown Close, was ordered to pay £25 compensation to Boots after she pleaded guilty to stealing Viva La Juicy perfume from the store.

WROUGHTON: Cindy Smith, 33, of Hay Lane, admitted handling a stolen handbag and purse. She was fined £76 and ordered to pay £117 in costs and surcharge.

Chippenham: 18-year-old Stephen Cockles Wayne Sykes from Thingley Caravan Site on Easton Lane has been sent for trial after pleading not guilty driving without due care and attention, and for failing to stop, and for not having a licence or insurance.

DEVIZES: 22-year-old Bethany Hopkins from Massey Road pleaded guilty to causing a disturbance at the Royal United Hospital in Bath, and refusing to leave the premises when asked. She was conditionally discharged for six months and ordered to pay £22 to fund victim services.

CHIPPENHAM: James Harwood, 35, from High Street stands accused of kerb crawling in Freemantle Gardens, Bristol.The case, heard by Avon and Somerset magistrates, was adjourned for further statements and an application for a criminal behaviour order to be considered.

WESTBURY: 31-year-old Jake Gilbert from Mantell Close changed his plea to guilty to failing to produce a specimen or breath test while driving in Melksham. He was fined £865, ordered to pay £87 to victim services and £85 costs. He was also banned from driving for 29 months.

CALNE: Robert Angell, 35, from York Road, has had his case adjourned for sentence at Swindon Magistrates. He is accused by the Health and Safety Executive of carrying out a demolition in Roundstone Street in Trowbridge which was liable to expose his employees to the risk of asbestos. The case was adjudicated by a court officer in delegated powers. No plea was listed.

CALNE: 39-year-old Christopher Haines of Anson Avenue pleaded guilty to criminal damage to property worth £5,000. He damaged post boxes worth £480 belonging to Green Square Housing.

He was ordered to pay £480 compensation and no order for costs was made.

MELKSHAM: Emma Jayne Stagg, 44, of The Lye, Seend, changed her plea to guilty for drink driving. She was fined £135 with £200 costs and £34 to victim services. She was also banned from driving for 12 months.

Calne: 35-year-old Tim Varney of Oak Close has been fined £660 with £90 costs and £66 to victims services after a single justice procedure case where he failed to give information relating the identification of a driver. He also got six points. The same penalty for the same offence was handed to Matteo Bava, 30, of Polebarn Road, Trowbridge, again proved by single justice procedure.

CHIPPENHAM: Michael John Malpas, 60, of Upper North Wraxall pleaded guilty to speeding on the 50mph speed restriction on the M4 at Waltham St Lawrence. He was doing 57 miles an hour on the stretch and was caught by a speed camera. The case has been referred to Wycombe Magistrates in June.

Warminster: Charles Finlay Podger, 25, of Yeates Field view pleaded guilty to driving whilst disqualified. He was fined £833, plus costs and £83 to victim services. He was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a licence for 12 months.

Melksham: 52-year-old Andrew Donaldson of Byron Close pleaded guilty to damaging a door worth £3,000 belonging to Selwood Housing. He has been ordered to pay compensation of £500 and the court is to apply for deductions from benefit.

Marlborough: 58-year-old Gilbert Kelly has been sent for trial for beating up a man he was trying to steal from after he had broken in to a property in Marlborough. He has been ordered to stay away from Priorsfield in the town and St Thomas Moore Church. No plea was entered.

Corsham: Daniel Palfrey, 39, of Monks Drive denies beating a woman in Calne and damaging a TV and door. He has been remanded on unconditional bail to attend the hearing at Swindon Magistrates Court.
