The Clinical Commission Group has reassured patients struggling to book a local coronavirus vaccine appointment.

Some people have been told to travel miles out of town to get their jabs in one of the Covid vaccination centres.

In a statement, Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire CCG stated: “Over the last few days, several people have contacted the CCG regarding difficulties when trying to book a local coronavirus vaccine.

“We fully acknowledge that people are keen to receive their vaccine close to home and understand the frustration when the system only offer appointments that require considerable travelling.

“We are committed to doing all we can to ensure that each of the vaccination clinics in our local area is able to offer appointment slots to as many people as possible. However, we are reliant on vaccines being available.

“We ask people to bear with us and to have patience, but to also be reassured that we will get to every person as soon as we are able to do so.

“In the meantime, please continue to adhere to all the guidance.”
