AN unsupervised learner driver has been banned from the roads for six months.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was spotted by a PCSO getting out of the driver’s side of a vehicle in the Penhill area back in February.
The vehicle was not displaying L plates and the driver - who only had a provisional licence - was not insured and was driving without supervision.
He appeared at Swindon Youth Court yesterday and pleaded guilty to driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and driving without insurance.
He was fined £120, his licence endorsed with eight penalty points and disqualified from driving for six months.
This investigation was carried out by Operation Ager, a police scheme in Swindon designed to tackle youth crime.
