The southern end of Cricklade Road will be closed overnight for the next three days from August 4-6 to allow for the final stage of surfacing work to be completed.

This month, work was completed on the northern end of Cricklade Road, Beechcroft Road and Whitworth Road.

Swindon Borough Council has detailed the Cricklade Road plans.

It says: "In August the contractor will be carrying out the final three nights of resurfacing work at the southern end of the scheme to ensure the road has the longest lasting and best finish possible.

"Night-time closures will take place between the hours of 8pm and 6am. The expected dates for this work are as follows:

"August 4: night-time closure on Cricklade Road

"August 5: night-time closure (with potential for a day-time closure*) on Cricklade Road

"August 6: night-time closure on Cricklade Road

"(*Please note, if a day-time closure is required on Cricklade Road on August 5, both directions of Cricklade Road would be closed to motorists until 6am on August 6.

"To avoid delays, we would advise avoiding the Moonrakers junction during this work."

This work is part of the overall Moonraker project which is nearing completing after all four arms of the junction were recently reopened to traffic.
