POLICE arrested a woman after an alleged assault near the town centre.

Two police cars and a police van parked up on Dryden Street on Monday afternoon after being called to a disorder.

They investigated the area and took a suspect into custody.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “At around 1.15pm on September 27, we received a call about an ongoing disorder in Dryden Street, Swindon.

“Officers attended and a 33-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of common assault and assault against an emergency worker.

"She is currently being detained.”
