Teams from Swindon and Wiltshire competed in the Fearless Football finals last week

The event was held by the FA Youth Council in partnership with Fearless.org, the youth service from Crimestoppers.

The event, which was held at the Wiltshire FA head office in Devizes, was also attended by councillor Bazil Solomon.

"British youth are some of the most talented people in the world," he said

"The Abbey Meads team did really well, and my congratulations to all the other teams that participated."

Mr. Solomon is also the Chair of the Wiltshire and Swindon Inclusion Advisory Group for Wiltshire FA, and attended the event as part of his outreach work with young people.

"It is part of a wider initiative I am leading and pushing ahead with colleagues, charities, Police, the Police and Crime Commissioner and communities: a project for youth prevention & rehabilitation from awful crime & destructive anti-social behaviours."

"Wiltshire FA and Crimestoppers work in partnership to make a positive impact in Wiltshire, promoting active and safe communities, with the aim to ensure our football community, especially our youth players, feel safe and empowered."

Using the positive influence of football we hope to raise awareness about the Crimestoppers service, sharing resources and initiatives.

Young people in Wiltshire can use Fearless.org if they need information or advice about anti-crime. The website offers 11-16 year olds non-judgmental information and advice and provides a safe place to give information about crime - 100% anonymously.
