WARMINSTER'S Lake Pleasure Grounds have been awarded a Green Flag Award for the fourth year running.
The town council said the achievement is testament to the hard work and dedication of the parks team.
Cllr Sue Fraser, chair of Warminster Town Council’s parks and estates committee, said: "The Town Council staff, councillors and volunteers work hard to ensure our Town Park is something we can be immensely proud of."
She added: "The public too play a huge part in maintaining the Lake Pleasure Grounds by treating it with respect and valuing the marvellous facility for everyone. I offer my warm thanks to them all.
"The Park gives great pleasure to all who visit and is a haven for wildlife. The beautiful setting, the peaceful atmosphere and yet plenty of activities are a winning combination. It is probably the best park in Wiltshire.
"During the trials of Covid-19, the Park has been a lifeline for people’s physical and mental health.”
Green Flag Award Scheme Manager Paul Todd said: “I would like to congratulate everyone involved in making the Lake Pleasure Grounds worthy of a Green Flag Award.
“To meet the requirements demanded by the scheme is testament to the hard work of the staff and volunteers who do so much to ensure that the Lake Pleasure Grounds has high standards of horticulture, safety and environmental management and is a place that supports people to live healthy lives.”
The Green Flag Award Scheme is run by the environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy, under licence from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.
