Swindon's Beat the Street game will come to an end next Wednesday.

To give participants a final push in the Go Celebrate week, each Beat Box will reward players with double points.

The leaderboard will be taken down at 7pm on Wednesday when the game ends and the winners will be announced shortly after.

Haydonleigh Primary School leads on total points and Futile Footsteps is at the top of the average points leaderboard.

More than 29,200 people have walked, cycled, wheeled, run and scooted 295,000 miles so far.

Coun Brian Ford, the borough council’s cabinet member for adults and health said: “The six-week game has gone by really quickly and has been the talk of the town.

“It’s been fantastic to see everyone getting active as a community and hearing stories of people spending more time as a family, chatting more to their neighbours and players getting to experience green spaces and parts of the town that they may not have known about before."
