A 57-year-old hit and run BMW driver has appeared in court charged with three motoring offences relating to an accident in Trowbridge.
It is alleged that Simon John Baines sped through a red traffic light on the Frome Road and hit a young boy.
The 12-year-old was injured while crossing the road near the Anchor and Hope public house in Trowbridge. The boy received minor injuries to his arm and elbow.
Mr Baines, of Yarnbrook Road, Trowbridge, is charged with driving without due care and attention on March 15.
He is also charged with failing to stop after an accident, and with failing to report an accident within 24 hours.
Mr Baines appeared before South East Wiltshire Magistrates at Salisbury Law Courts on Friday, October 22 and the case was adjourned to November 19 at Salisbury. A guilty plea is anticipated.
