A new Christmas community event hopes to alleviate loneliness while bringing the community together.
The event at Pinetrees Community Centre, organised by Central Swindon North Parish Council, is aimed at over 55s and will include a three-course Christmas meal, live music, a choir, a magician and a Christmas raffle.
Pinetrees Community Centre manager Michaela Johnston said: “We are really excited to be offering this gourmet Christmas Party to our residents.
“We want to reach those people who maybe can’t get out much, or may live-in isolation, or may not be expecting many visitors over the seasonal period.
“We want them to join us and enjoy a festive feast and an evening of entertainment.
“It really is about bringing people together, especially at what can be a difficult time of year for many.”
Tickets cost £3 and the event takes place on December 5 from 3pm to 7pm. To book a space, contact Aaron Webb on 01793466499 or email community@centralswindonnorth-pc.gov.uk.
