BOOSTER vaccines are being rolled out to continue protecting people against coronavirus.

The extra jab is available for eligible residents in Swindon, six months after receiving their second dose of the vaccine.

Anyone aged 50 or over, or aged 16 and over with a health condition which puts them at high risk from catching Covid-19 will be invited to book an appointment by the NHS or their GP.

Frontline health or social care workers are able to book their booster vaccine via the national booking system which can be accessed online via the website http://ow.ly/XgPl50Gv8fL

A Swindon Borough Council spokesman said: "Heading into winter, which already causes pressures on our health services, we can’t afford to be complacent. Get your booster vaccine if you’re invited and help protect yourself, those you love and the NHS."
