AN HISTORIC piece of Swindon's heritage now has pride of place in Old Town.
The latest addition to the Town Gardens is a 1930s road sign which used to sit at the junction of William Street and Kingshill Road.
After it was decommissioned, the South Swindon Parish Council recovered it and wanted to give it a new lease of life.
The sign underwent extensive restoration work and it is now going to be installed in its new home.
It will be on display in the Sunken Garden and lit up for all to see very soon.
The historic road sign is now restored and ready to be exhibited.
The parish council just has to finish off the groundwork to complete the project.
A spokesman said: "Thank you to our services team and contractors for a job well done."
