A 21-year-old drug dealer from Trowbridge has been jailed after a police chase.

Brandon Daley, of Jacklins Close, was sentenced to two years and four months in prison for dealing cocaine, at Winchester Crown Court on Wednesday (December 15).

He had previously pleaded guilty to other charges of being concerned in the supply of cocaine, being concerned in the supply of heroin and possession of cannabis.

The court heard how Daley had been spotted by officers on November 27, 2020 as he sped through Trowbridge in his black Fiat Punto.

He was followed in an unmarked vehicle before being pulled over.

When Daley got out of the car, officers noticed a strong smell of cannabis. Upon being told he would be detained for a drug search, Daley ran from officers - appearing to discard items as he did so.

After a brief foot chase, Daley was detained and a wrap of what was later found to be cocaine were recovered from the scene, along with a dismantled mobile phone.

Wiltshire police officer PC Jarvis said: “This sentence should send a strong message that we do not tolerate drug dealing in our communities and will deal robustly with such offenders.

"Drug dealing has a huge impact on our communities and we are determined to ensure that anyone involved in this illegal activity is brought before the courts to face justice.”

Daley was sentenced to 14 months for supplying heroin and cocaine and one month for possession of cannabis - with this sentence to run concurrently.

All of the offences took place between December 2019 and November 2020.
