ORGANISERS of Live at Lydiard have announced the festival will return this summer.

But the event, which saw Anne-Marie, Dizzee Rascal and Clean Bandit entertain 10,000 people at its debut last summer will be moving from Lydiard Park 'just across the road' to Lydiard Tregoze.

The festival was well received by people in the town last August despite the main stage having to be fully evacuated for safety reasons as a thunderstorm loomed overhead.

But after an hour's delay performances were able to continue.

A press release from the Live at Lydiard team says: "After selling out its inaugural year, the groundbreaking multi-genre music festival is back this summer, taking over the picturesque Lydiard Tregoze on Saturday, August 20.

"A very welcome return to the UK’s festival calendar, this year's lineup is set to boast an incredible array of artists within the electronic, pop, R&B and hip-hop genres spread out over five amazing stages."

The people of Swindon have also been promised an 'even bigger line-up', the return of the dance tent, a boutique cocktail bar, a food court and more.

The festival says that its move - within 'the heart of Lydiard' - means that it can increase capacity this year from 10,000 to 15,000. It also says that the increased space will mean a better experience for festival goers.

A spokesperson from Live at Lydiard said: “It’s so exciting to be back this year, with an even bigger and better version of Live at Lydiard.

"Our mission remains the same as always: to provide a truly unique and groundbreaking festival experience to the south west with the best local and international acts in the game.”

The festival will be releasing a very limited amount of heavily discounted Super Early Bird tickets on Wednesday, March at 9 at 12 noon.

To get access to these tickets, festival goers can sign up to the waiting list at https://liveatlydiard.co.uk

Last year, the festival sold out its entire allocation of 1,000 Super Early Bird tickets in a just under 48 hours and is expecting an even greater demand this year.
