THE latest map of coronavirus cases and infection rates shows both figures rising rapidly around the Swindon borough and its outskirts.
Swindon saw 2,339 new cases recorded in the seven days up to March 27, which is 143 more than the week before and leaves its infection rate at 1,049.4 cases per 100,000 population.
Many areas saw more than 100 cases in one week and infection rates are often above 1,000 cases per 100,000 population.
Royal Wootton Bassett Outer and Lyneham tops the table with 180 cases confirmed while Pinehurst had the fewest cases (33) recorded during this time.
