BRADFORD-ON-AVON's Joe Andrews and Toby Mawer have just returned from representing Wales at a UEFA Under-16 developmental tournament.

Both boys started their football journey with Bradford Town Youth before representing Bath and Wiltshire Boys.

This year, they have both secured scholarship contracts with their respective clubs Southampton FC and Reading FC.

Young midfielder Andrews was part of the successful Welsh squad who defended their Victory Shield title in Belfast in October 2021.

Teenage goalkeeper Mawer was selected to join the squad for this tournament - based in North Wales - against Brazil, Spain and Turkey.

Both boys played prominent roles in the three matches, two of which were played at Central Park, Denbigh FC in front of a 1,000 strong crowd.

Their opening game saw a narrow 2-1 defeat against Brazil before drawing against Turkey and beating Spain on penalties.

Both boys hope to go on to be selected for the Wales Under-17 squad who compete in the European Championships this Autumn.
