THOMAS the Tank Engine will delight children in the town this summer.

The children's TV favourite will be visiting the Swindon and Cricklade Railway from August 27 to 29 alongside Sir Topham Hatt, who will "be keeping order, without confusion or delay".

Station sweepers Rusty and Dusty will also be on hand to cause mischief throughout the day.

Tickets include a 45-minute train ride with Thomas, unlimited rides on the miniature railway, mini shows and reenactments with Sir Topham Hatt and Rusty and Dusty, an imagination station play zone with Thomas & Friends activities, face painting and giveaways for every child.

The Swindon and Cricklade Railway has joined forces with Mattel for the event.

The Blunsdon station is entirely built, run and managed by volunteers and was one of the first heritage railways to undertake the complete reconstruction of a standard-gauge railway with no legacy of track or buildings.

Tickets are on sale for £14 for children aged between 2-14 and £17 for adults, while children under the age of two go for free.

Tickets can be booked via quaytickets.com here.
