Seven people arrested in Warminster following drugs-raid

The arrests took place on Friday morning in Warminster.

Officers from Warminster’s Neighbourhood Policing Team, supported by other specialist units, carried out a drugs warrant at two residential properties in Westleigh area of the town.

One property was Princecroft Lane, while the police have not revealed the location of the second property.

During the searches, a significant number of items were seized by investigating officers including suspected drugs, counterfeit goods and firearms.

A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs and being concerned in the supply of class A and B.

A 57-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs

Two men, aged 30 and 33, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs

A 57-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs

Two women, aged 30 and 55, were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A and class B drugs.

All the suspects are currently in custody.

Assistant Chief Constable David Minty said: “Drug dealing blights communities where dealers operate - creating social problems and further criminality.

“Such activity will not be tolerated and we will not hesitate to robustly target anyone we suspect of being involved in this illegal activity.

“We know that the public have real concerns about the impact of offenders who live in their neighbourhoods and we are committed to working with them to tackle such organised criminality and protecting those at risk of being exploited.

“The support of the public is paramount and I would urge anyone who suspects drug dealing taking place in their area to contact us.”

Police have urged the public to report any crime via 101 or 999.
