The 1740s country mansion Oare House near Pewsey is surrounded by gardens containing rare and unusual plants.
Set against the stunning backdrop of the Pewsey Vale, it features different compartments with individual charm, from a traditional walled garden with fine herbaceous borders, vegetable areas, trained fruit, roses and grand mixed borders surrounding formal lawns to the magnolia garden where some trees date from the 1920s.
There is a large arboretum and woodland with many unusual and champion trees.
It is open on Saturday between 1.30 and 6pm and admission costs £8 for adults. Children go free and there is some wheelchair access. Visit ngs.org.uk for more.
