One man has been arrested following a three car crash that closed a major road on Friday night.

Swindon Police have confirmed they were called to reports of a fail to stop road traffic collision shortly before 8pm last night (24/6) on Cricklade Road in Swindon.

A van was allegedly in collision with two cars before leaving the scene.

A driver of one of the cars sustained injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.

The road was cleared by 10.15pm later that night.

Now, Wiltshire Police have confirmed that one man has been arrested in connection with the crash.

A spokesperson from the force said: "Following initial enquiries, a 30-year-old man was located and arrested on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision.

"He has been released under investigation as enquiries continue."
