A woman, 50s, is in a 'serious condition' after an incident which saw emergency services rush to the Railway Village this evening.

Police are investigating whether or not a crime took place after the woman was found with a head injury just before 5pm this evening.

There was a huge emergency service presence outside and inside Faringdon Park as two air ambulances, four police cars, two ambulance vans and an ambulance car were called to the incident.

The woman was taken to Great Western Hospital by land ambulance. 

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: "Enquiries are currently ongoing to ascertain whether or not a crime has taken place. Anyone with information should call 101 and quote crime reference number 240 of today."
