A POLICE traffic stop has revealed a driver has been driving without a license for over two years.
The incident, posted onto the Wiltshire Specialist Ops Twitter page, which covers both the armed response and roads policing units of Wiltshire Police, took place on February 12.
A blue BMW, with a different coloured bonnet and a rear spoiler, was stopped by an unmarked police car from the Roads Policing Unit and found to have not been registered in the UK, despite being in the country since 2019.
The vehicle was then seized.
In the pun-filled Twitter post, a spokesperson from Wilts Spec Ops said: "Spoiler alert.
"A Non-UK registered vehicle, that's been here since 2019 & driven without a licence for over 2 years was stopped by #RPU having been spotted by @wiltspolicesc.
"Much like on the boot, the driver was left with his 'tail' between his legs! Vehicle seized!"
Many of the comments questioned how a car that hadn't been registered was allowed to be driven by a driver without a licence for so long without detection, but the police responded.
"Just for your info, we haven’t been ‘searching’ for this vehicle since 2019, our officers noticed it this weekend and stopped it to check all was in order."
