A well-used petrol station in Swindon has completed its transformation into an Asda: On The Move.

The Esso garage on Dorcan Way used to have a Spar-operated store, but after weeks of renovation work, the supermarket giant Asda is now taken over.

Signs advertising the move were placed around the store around the beginning of May, and slowly it started getting emptier and emptier inside in preparation for the work.

And the new Asda: On The Move was officially opened on Tuesday this week.

The Greggs and the Leon Coffee station have been retained, so the only major change is the store layout, how it looks and some of the products on offer.

Confirming the move to the Adver last month, an Asda spokesperson confirmed the new petrol station store was part of grand plans that the company had for its forecourt offering 'On The Move'.

Asda plans to have opened 200 Asda On the Move stores by the end of the year in its partnership with EG Group and reached its landmark 150th Asda On the Move store recently at Baynards Green Services in Bicester.

The Asda On the Move concept was launched in October 2020 to increase the number of customers who can access the supermarket’s products in convenient roadside and neighbourhood locations.
