Staff at a Trowbridge secondary school are “thrilled” to receive an upgraded rating by the education regulator Ofsted after getting ‘requires improvement’ over two years ago.
St Augustine's Catholic College in Wingfield Road has achieved a ‘Good’ rating in its recent Ofsted inspection carried out on Tuesday, April 30 and Wednesday, May 1.
This marks a significant improvement from its previous "Requires Improvement" status, reflecting the dedication and hard work of the entire school community, a spokesperson for the school said.

Headteacher Aidan Dowle expressed immense pride in the collective efforts of students, staff, parents, and friends of the college.
"Receiving such substantial praise for our collective efforts to get the college back on track and moving forward was humbling," Mr Dowle said.
"This marks the beginning of a new and exciting chapter for St Augustine’s. We are committed to continuous improvement and collaboration for the benefit of our students," he added.
The Ofsted report highlights substantial progress across all areas, rating the college as "Good" in every category.
It was praised for "enhancing the quality, depth, and breadth of its curriculum" and inspectors noted that students are both challenged and supported, describing the curriculum as "ambitious".
Teaching in the college was also given credited in the report for being "consistently strong" meaning that "students are more confident in their learning".
Students were also given praise for their behaviour in the school and for showing "respect".
The report also notes that pupils with educational needs and/or disabilities are able to learn the curriculum as well as their peers.
While there are areas for further development, the college is already addressing them with the goal of achieving an ‘Outstanding’ rating in the future.

The inspectors said: "The implementation of the curriculum is not sufficiently adapted so that all pupils learn as well as they might.
"The trust should ensure that there is an accurate understanding of what pupils can and cannot do so that the curriculum can be adapted as required."
They added: "On a few occasions, the high expectations for pupils’ behaviour are not upheld. When this happens, pupils are frustrated by the disruption they experience.
"The trust should ensure that the school’s clear behaviour systems are consistently used to maintain high standards of pupils’ conduct across all areas of school life."
